Chiarina Players Concert: “Voices of Resilience and Remembrance” – March 15th, 7:30pm, St. Mark’s
This program explores oppression and hope through the voices of female poets, four living composers, and two stalwart mid century works. Interspersed with movements from some of the most compelling works reflecting the darkness of wartime, this program amplifies the voices of resilient women — from underground poets in modern-day Afghanistan, set to song by Juhi Bansal, to survivors of WWII’s Kindertransport, in a song cycle by Lori Laitman.
