Vestry Notes from Vestry Clerk Randy Marks
The Vestry — our governing board — generally meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7PM, in person and via zoom. Because the Vestry took August “off,” the September 24 meeting included a lot of reports. Highlights included:
- Plans for the annual stewardship appeal.
- Information about upcoming efforts on truth-telling and reparations.
- Discussing whether to resume offering a non-alcoholic beverage at communion. The consensus was to experiment doing that.
- Beginning the budget process with a tutorial.
- Updating our building calendar scheduling system.
- An update on Raiford Gaffney’s generous gift to the Parish.
- Approving minor budget adjustments.
- Discussing how to support small Parish groups, with Vestry members suggesting possible groups.
