The Reverend Christopher Phillips Promoted to Associate Rector
Christopher has been with St. Marks since July 2021. Christopher has not only been involved with planning worship, preaching, and teaching; his presence and kindness in leadership have given St. Mark’s community a solid footing as we create opportunities to invite more people to journey with us.
St Mark’s is a teaching institution where we get the privilege of training priests on how to run a parish, a task that Christopher stepped into this summer while Sr. Rector, Michele Morgan was on sabbatical. Christopher’s move from Assistant to Associate is the next step to help him live his goal of becoming a Rector in a congregation that he one day will serve.
As Associate Rector, Christopher will assume enhanced preaching, teaching, and pastoral care responsibilities in caring for our community. Additionally, he will oversee the creation of our weekly service bulletins, assist with bequests and gifts, and compile diocesan-required reporting.
