Marine Chamber Orchestra Performance on Sunday,

Sun Mar 1 | 1 pm - 2 pm in the Nave

Performed by members of “The President’s Own” (including our own Carrie Bean Stute), Reflection Across the Atlantic: Franco-American Chamber Dialogues features prominent works by wind band composers.

François Devienne’s Bassoon Quartet in C, Op. 73 No. 1 anchors the performance and gives a unique spotlight to the bassoon. Works by Samuel Barber bring a neo-Romantic style to the program with his bluesy and playful Summer Music, Op. 31. The concert closes with George Gershwin’s An American in Paris, which blends jazzy melodies and French can-can tunes to create a listening atmosphere that will transport you to Paris.
