Lenten Mite Box

The Mite Box is a meaningful spiritual practice.

This year’s Mite Box theme is Food Insecurity. During Lent, we invite you to reflect on the reality of hunger on our neighbors—both near and far.

The Mite Box is a meaningful spiritual practice that encourages us to respond with compassion, offering a small monetary gift. Throughout Lent, St. Mark’s daily email will include a brief reflection on the effects of food insecurity or information about programs that serve people experiencing hunger. Many of these reflections will invite you to record a donation on a ledger or place it in a physical container. At Easter, total your gifts and donate that amount to support local organizations identified by the SSJ Board that help fight hunger.
