Found a Sewing Machine for an Afghan woman
Thanks from the St. Mark’s Refugee Steering Committee for the generous response of many who offered a sewing machine or the money to buy a machine for an Afghan neighbor who was longing to replace the one she had to leave behind in Kabul.
There were many offers and she is now learning to use an American model machine. We occasionally get requests, so are exploring the possibility of storing a few of those offered for future requests. However, at the moment we don’t have a good solution for storage. I will contact you if we can find a storage solution as well as distribution and training on these sewing machines. Most of the women have some need for training because the US style has a mechanism that is not familiar to the machines they used in Kabul. Please watch this space for updates. email@example.com
