St. Mark’s has two direct avenues for outreach outside the United States. Read more about these programs and how you can get involved below. Also, learn about the Refugee Resettlement Program.

The St. Mark’s Mid-East Working Group (MEWG) works for peace, reconciliation, and justice for the people of Palestine and Israel by promoting a greater understanding of historic and current issues in the Middle East, partnering with peace-seeking individuals and groups in all faith communities, both here and abroad; supporting our Anglican brothers and sisters in the Holy Land; promoting relevant policies adopted by the Episcopal Church; and recommending that St. Mark’s advocate for additional, appropriate policies and actions by the Episcopal Church and the U.S. government.

The working group was founded in June 2009 and is on hiatus in 2023.

If you are interested in events related to Palestine and Israel in the Washington area, we encourage you to sign up for the excellent weekly email list sent out by Tom Johnson.  He can be reached at:  tojo@att.net.

Since 1989, St Mark’s has forged significant links with people in Honduras. Through youth and adult trips, friendships have flourished as St Mark’s parishioners worked side by side with farmers, helping them establish sustainable agriculture techniques. Read a brief history of this program.

We are happy to announce that as of April 2018, these important connections and work will continue under the aegis of Sustainable Villages Honduras.
