Seeking Altar Guild and Acolytes

Sep 10, 2021

Looking for a simple ‘job’ that isn’t time consuming but can make a BIG contribution to worship? Both the 9 and 11:15 Altar Guild teams are looking for new members. If you can get to church 15 minutes early and stay 15 minutes after (and don’t mind washing dishes), this is the job for you. No meetings (well, the annual brunch is, technically, a meeting), no evenings (it’s a Saturday), and no homework (unless you don’t mind doing some additional laundry) this is perfect for you…and we train! Please contact Susan Ryerson for the 9 am team or Doris Burton to join 11:15.

Looking for a different simple ‘job’ that isn’t time consuming, has no meetings, and can make a BIG difference in worship? The 11:15 service is in need of acolytes (we are only 3 right now). We light the altar candles, process the cross, collect the offering from the ushers, hand a few items to the clergy, recess the cross, and extinguish the candles at the end. Liking to dress up essential (we wear white albs) and arriving 10 minutes early and staying 5 minutes after is all the time required. Training is short and sweet. Age is not a deterrent (we three are, ahem, over 60). Contact Doris Burton, Worship Chair.
