Rev. Munther Isaac (“Christ in the Rubble”)
Rev. Isaac is a Palestinian Christian and pastor of the Christmas Lutheran Church in Bethlehem. He is known for the “Christ in the Rubble” display and sermon of lament. He is the author of a new book called Christ in the Rubble: Faith, the Bible and Genocide in Gaza.
The Christ in the Rubble display at St. Marks during Advent 2024 was modeled after his words and display.
