On March 8, Take One Step to Fight Hunger
In keeping with our Lenten focus on hunger and food insecurity, the Service & Social Justice Board is hosting a Snack Bag Assembly in Baxter Hall after both morning services. We invite children, parents, and other caring adults to come fill ziplock bags with nutritious items for the men and woman who turn to Samaritan Ministry for help in taking their “Next Steps” toward adult education, employment, and housing. The Ministry’s offices have no on-site meal service but provide over 200 of these “take-away” bags each week to program participants who are hungry. Nourish their spirits as well as their bodies by adding a personal greeting or cheerful drawing to a St. Mark’s insert card. There’s no need to bring anything but your heart and helping hands.
