Olive Oil Sales/Gaza Update
Thank you to all those who purchased Palestinian olive oil. As one of the 30 congregations in the DMV holding similar sales, we were able to contribute $2,000 for hospitals in Gaza and the West Bank. The overall effort netted nearly $29,000. Meanwhile, as we pray that the ceasefire in Gaza holds, we learned that our Alhi Hospital was the December 29 target of another artillery strike, hitting the new Diagnostic Center and causing severe damage to the orthopedic clinic. According to the UN, Gaza has the highest number of child amputees per capita anywhere in the world. On October 14, the hospital lost an X-ray machine and two ultrasound machines in a similar strike. The staff at Ahli Hospital continues to provide critical care despite the threats to their safety and lack of resources.
