Notes from the October 28 Vestry meeting

There is a lot going on in the world and St. Mark's is responding in faith and action.

Randy Marks, Vestry Clerk, shared the following:

  • We discussed our Children, Youth, and Family Ministries Program with the new Director, Lisa Ramish. The focus was on creating greater focus and alignment, and on the costs and promises of the tremendous growth (103 registered in Sunday School).
  • We discussed our Service and Social Justice Program with Board Co-Chairs Holly Kreutter and Edna Boone. The program is facing new challenges because of federal government actions. It is looking to rationalize its programs, focusing on those with parishioner involvement.
  • We heard an update on the Strategic Planning process and supported the distribution of a survey to members to launch it.
  • Approved a special fundraising effort to support hunger programs. Michele will also be finding additional funds for such donations, e.g., from the clergy discretionary fund.
