Note about entering Sunday School classrooms
One important way our teachers foster a sense of belonging in Sunday School is through the role of Doorkeeper, where one of the two co-teachers greets children individually by name so they feel seen, and then guides them across the threshold and directly to Circle Time. This intentional practice is difficult when children arrive early. Thus, we ask that throughout the coming year, all children stay upstairs until the end of worship.
Though sometimes the service runs long and Michele dismisses kids early, in general the end of worship coincides with the 10:00 AM start of Sunday School so we will use the end of worship as our sign to go downstairs.
