Incarceration Justice Update

Thank you to all the parishioners who attended our July 11 Incarceration Justice meeting!

A dozen of us welcomed three returned citizens to hear their stories and poems. Janet Zwick, the Free Minds staff member who organized the event with us, circled back to report that the evening was very well received, and the Poet Ambassador and poets from Free Minds noted that they felt genuinely heard and respected.

We will be planning another Free Minds event for early in 2024. In the meantime, please check their website, Free Minds Book Club write-night, to sign up for monthly events to read and respond to poems from incarcerated individuals. Again, thank you all for the support!

Monthly meetings for Incarceration Justice will resume in September (monthly at 7 p.m. on the 2nd Tuesday). Contact Jan Lipscomb for more information.
