Incarceration Justice – Author Talk

Upcoming special event on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, starting at 6 pm: Join us either in person or online for a visit with Anthony Ray Hinton. He is the author of The Sun Can Shine: A Call to Assist Those Who Are or Were Incarcerated.

Mr. Hinton will speak at New York Avenue Presbyterian Church as a part of the McClendon Scholar Program. He was an innocent man, imprisoned and on death row for 30 years until Bryan Stevenson and the Equal Justice Initiative team worked to exonerate Mr. Hinton. In the book Just Mercy, Bryan Stevenson featured Mr. Hinton’s story and provided an introduction for us.
