Help Alleviate Hunger this Christmas!

$5 to $50 gift cards gratefully accepted at either morning service, December 8 (or mail them)

The Capital Area Food Bank reports that 37% of the households in DC and its suburbs experienced food insecurity from May 2023 to May 2024 — a 5% increase over the previous period. Many of the adults helped by Samaritan Ministry have families living on the margin.

The Ministry hopes to help 200 families this Christmas by providing each one with $50 in gift cards usable at Giant, Safeway, Walmart, or Target.  Cards valued from $5 to $50 will be gratefully accepted.

For delivery in person, please give them to Peter Hawley at either morning service on December 8 or mail them by December 9 to Ms. Sy Jones, Samaritan Ministry, 3111 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE, Washington, DC 20032.

To avoid theft, mail envelopes at a post office rather than a mailbox.
