Growing Palestine – Traditional Agriculture Under Occupation

Learn about Palestinian farmers on the West Bank.

Join a Jewish Voice for Peace discussion on the impact of Israeli military occupation of Palestine through an environmental lens. Farmers, critical to Palestinian society, face dwindling land availability through illegal confiscation of homes and property to build illegal Jewish-only settlements and businesses. Water diversion by agribusiness and Israeli government-funded settlers threaten traditional growers who struggle to sustain small farms that preserve ancestral agricultural knowledge and play important roles in food sovereignty, economic sustainability, and autonomy.

When: Sunday, March 26, 2–4 pm
Where: Baxter Hall, St. Mark’s Church, Capitol Hill

Growing Palestine works directly to help farmers stay on their land. St Mark’s olive oil sales and herbs from Palestinian farms are part of this legacy.
