Folger Theatre Play – Where We Belong
As we continue to build right relationships with Native Peoples, we’ll post news about upcoming events. One event we are excited to share about is the Feb 15–Mar 10 production of Where We Belongat the Folger Theatre . (Tickets start@ $20.)
In 2015 Madeline Sayet, of the Mohegan tribe, traveled to England to pursue a PhD in Shakespeare. She found a country that refused to acknowledge its ongoing role in colonialism. In this stirring solo piece, Madeline echoes a journey to England braved by her Native ancestors in the 1700s following treaty betrayals—and forces us to consider what it means to belong in an increasingly globalized world.
We are looking to gather a group to attend from St. Mark’s, either Sunday 2/25 or Sunday 3/10, for the 2 p.m. matinee. Let us know if you are interested by checking either of the dates in the link attached here: http://tinyurl.com/STMFolger
Deadline for signing up: February 18, 2024
