Deacon Discernment Workshop on October 5
We are all called by God to ministry. A deacon’s ministry is grounded in our Baptismal Covenant. ‘To seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving your neighbor as yourself; and to strive for justice and peace among all people, respecting the dignity of every human being’. Deacons are servant leaders who: discern the needs of the world; speak the needs of the world to the church; help the laity identify their own calls to ministry; and assist bishops and priests in the liturgy. If you’re curious to learn more, please consider attending the EDOW Deacon Discernment Workshop on Saturday, October 5 from 9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at All Souls Episcopal Church. If you attend, you will need to bring with you, a sponsoring clergy and a lay representative who would serve as a member of your local discernment committee.
