Crafts of Cairo Sale on Sunday, December 14th
As we move into Advent, St. Mark’s continues its commitment to supporting communities in the Middle East. This year, we will again host the Crafts of Cairo Sale on Sunday, December 14th, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This event is offered in partnership with Hands Along the Nile, led by our parishioner Jennifer Cate. One project HANDS supports is vocational training in Cairo’s garbage-recycling neighborhood, where women develop skills such as weaving, quilting, and embroidery. Using reclaimed materials, including paper, glass, fabric remnants, and soda can tabs, the artisans create delightful items–which make perfect holiday gifts!
Your purchases support these women as they work toward financial stability and brighter futures for their families. Several St. Mark’s members will be touring Egypt in January and plan to visit this project and meet the women who are making these treasures!
