Incarceration Justice Meeting
The February 10th Incarceration Justice meeting will be on Zoom at 7:30 (starting 1/2 hour later). Good news! One of our pen pals had an IRAA Hearing (Incarceration Reduction Amendment Act) on Monday, 2/2/26. In a rare turn of events, the Judge elected to release him without the need for further proceedings. Her ruling was final and he will be coming home soon!
Mary Neznek will share information about actions we can take to support companies and businesses that do not participate in detention and imprisoning marginalized people. We will learn about organizing to support our neighbors who are at most risk.
Tammy Phillips from the DC Dream Center shared an upcoming opportunity for jobs in the construction industry. February 23, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at UDC Student Center, 4200 Connecticut Ave., NW.
