Be Inspired (again) by Bishop Mariann!

Each of us, from time to time, takes on each character in the story of the Good Samaritan

On March 29, Bishop Mariann Budde delivered a powerful keynote address at Samaritan Ministry’s “Next Step Breakfast.”

Drawing on events in her own life, she spoke movingly about how each of us at some point is like each character in the story of the Good Samaritan: the wounded person, those who pass by, and the one who stops, sees, feels empathy, and helps. She lauded the Ministry for its method of combining compassion and humility with accountability as it helps individuals get back on a better path. Lastly, she reaffirmed her personal commitment and that of the Diocese to the Ministry’s work, especially in Southeast DC.

The audience of 300 — including 23 members of St. Mark’s — responded with cheers and a standing ovation.
