Be a Good Samaritan – for Samaritan Ministry!
Forty years ago, St. Mark’s joined other Episcopal churches in starting Samaritan Ministry to help people in need across the DMV. Since then, Ministry staff and volunteers have helped thousands of adults move from desperation to stability: learning life skills, finding homes, and getting jobs. Federal program cuts and layoffs now put the Ministry itself in danger as grants and donations diminish even while the needs increase.
Now is the time to lend a helping hand:
- Become an individual or corporate sponsor of the upcoming Gala on November 7
- Donate items for its auction, and attend the event.
For details on these options, pick up a flyer on the windowsill in the foyer, go to samaritanministry.org/gala-2026, or contact Peter at phawleydc@gmail.com.
Feeling creative? Put together an enticing “theme basket” for the auction. Free baskets will be available on October 11.
