A BIG “Thank You” to all who Helped!
Last Sunday in Baxter Hall, a total of 47 children and adults assembled 160 “food take-away bags” for the men and women who turn to Samaritan Ministry for help. The bags multiplied so rapidly that one participant compared it to the miracle of the loaves and fishes…only with juice, fruit cups, nuts, cookies, and tuna salad “snack on the run.” Equally inspiring was the caring and creativity shown in the messages and drawings added to the “Gift from St. Mark’s” cards placed in each bag. Upon delivery Monday, the Ministry’s staff in Anacostia, Congress Heights, and Arlington expressed their gratitude for our congregation’s generosity and thoughtfulness. Thanks to everyone who made this project a success, especially the following volunteers who assisted on site: Karen Falk, Emily and Ben Johannsen, Jeff Kincheloe, Amber Macdonald, Sydney Register, Jeremy Sierra, and Todd, Madison, and Marshall Thorpe.
