Wed Jan 28 | 8pm-2am | Across DC
What is PIT: DC is one of hundreds of communities across the country that conduct a Point-in-Time (PIT) Count on one night during the last ten days in January to secure federal homeless assistance funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Who participates: Outreach teams, community service providers (that’s us!), TCP employees, DHS employees, and community volunteers.

Where: The city is broken up into specific areas that are designated to an organization or group of people to count. We are in charge of Capitol Hill

When: Wednesday, January 28, 2026 (if there is inclement weather, we will conduct the count Thursday, January 29, 2026). 8pm-2am. We are usually done closer to 12 am or earlier but please plan on being out until 2am.
