Sunday Hospitality at St. Mark’s

We strive to create an environment and opportunities for our members, guests and visitors to meet one another informally and to both build and reinforce the connections with others that are so vital to creating a healthy, dynamic community.  Here is how we do that on Sundays.

10 AM Coffee Break

When the 9 AM service adjourns, folks can make a quick visit to Baxter Hall (our parish hall) and grab a cup of coffee or tea before returning to the nave for Sermon Seminar, an opportunity to hear, react to and discuss the day’s sermon.

10:45 Coffee Hour

At the end of Sermon Seminar, everyone is invited into Baxter Hall, including the children and youth as they come out of Sunday School, for coffee, juice and snacks.  Volunteers serve as baristas and managers of the beverages; parishioners volunteer each week to provide the snacks.

Sunday Lunch

Following the 11:15 AM service, usually around 12:30 PM, we welcome everyone for Sunday Lunch that is prepared and served by parish groups and by individual volunteers.  It usually includes soup or a casserole, salad, bread and deserts.  The “pub” is open during this period for those who would like a soft drink, wine or beer.  There is no “free lunch,” as the saying goes, except for first-timers and visitors.  Members purchase lunch tickets that are “punched” when used, usually $3 per lunch.

5:00 PM Service

At the conclusion of the service, those attending are invited to stay for an informal hospitality hour with beverages and snacks at the south end of the nave.
