We Installed the 12th Rector of St. Mark’s!
With joy, we announce that the Reverend Michele H. Morgan was installed as twelfth rector of St. Mark’s by The Right Reverend Mariann Budde, Bishop of Washington, on 30 April 2017 at 4:00 pm.
Here is a message from Sr. Warden, Nora Howell, as shared in the Gospel newsletter:
“What a joyous day it was for us on Sunday April 30th as Bishop Mariann Budde installed our dear Michele Morgan as St. Mark’s 12th Rector. The photo (top left) shows the moment when Bishop Mariann invited the parish to greet her after she had been installed – and the overwhelming response of joy is beaming through on everyone’s face.
In her sermon during the Eucharist, Bishop Mariann spoke of her long and fond relationship with Michele going back to their parish days in Minnesota. She spoke of Michele’s gifts and how blessed St. Mark’s is that she chose us (amen to that!). She also spoke of St. Mark’s gifts, too, and how blessed Michele is that we chose her. God isn’t done with St. Mark’s, she reminded us, nor is God done with Michele. Absolutely, we have much to accomplish as we grow together in the years ahead. I’ll presume to speak for God, though, when I say that God was well pleased with all of us on Sunday!”
