Wednesday Bible Class

Wednesdays | noon-1:15 pm, Rector's Room & Zoom (last session of the season)

This year we’re exploring “context” as key to understanding the writings in the New Testament. After a brief review of last year’s study, we have approached New Testament writings in their first- and second-century contexts. For example: Can we make sense of the fact that the words “Christian” and “Christianity” appear only three times in the New Testament?

Our study uses commentary, readings, questions, discussion, and more questions. Ultimately, we ask ourselves, “What does our learning mean for our lives now?” We learn collaboratively and respectfully. There is no assigned homework outside of class. New members are welcome and appreciated.

Dates & Time: Wednesdays, September 6, 2023 – June 26, 2024, noon–1:15 p.m
