Incarceration Justice Ministry meeting
At our next meeting, we will discuss the book The Fire Next Time, by James Baldwin. Listen to the book, if you like, at this YouTube link; the video is about 2.5 hours.
The meeting will be online beginning at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, February 23.
If you’re interested in participating, please send an email to Suzanne Wells. Suzanne will share the Zoom link. For additional questions, please contact Jan Lipscomb or Jason Horrell.
Note: Our group has continued to meet regularly, using remote platforms, and continues to work on behalf of individuals who are at risk of being caught in the justice system. Restorative justice is a strategy that is currently used for some juvenile offenders rather than going to court. It involves facilitated dialog between victims and offenders and individually designed engagement in volunteer work, therapy, and routine check-ins to bring about reconciliation.
