Youth - Confirmation

Overview:

This spring, Christian Education and St. Mark’s Youth Ministries offered a confirmation course for all children ages 12 and older who had not yet been confirmed and who sought to discover who they are and where they belong within their community and the Episcopal Church.  At the end of the course, each person reflected with clergy to discern the level of their interest in the confirmation experience and chose whether to make plans to participate or attend the Cathedral service with other youth in the diocese.

Youth Confirmation - Spring 2013

St. Mark’s Youth & Family Ministries will be offering a confirmation course for youth ages 13 and older who seek to deepen their faith and explore their membership in the Episcopal Church.  Our series of 8 classes will draw from the Confirm Not Conform Curriculum (among other sources) and will cover a variety of topics including personal beliefs & values, different voices within the Christian Church, rites and sacraments, biblical tradition and liturgy, as well as provide a comprehensive view of the Episcopal Church.  At the end of the course, students will reflect with clergy to discern the level of interest in the confirmation process and make plans to participate or attend the Cathedral Service with other youth in the diocese on May 11.
