Jeff Kempskie, Director of Music
Jeff Kempskie is currently completing a Master’s degree in Organ Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY where he studies with Dr. William Porter. He has most recently served as Interim Director of Music at Bethany Presbyterian Church. Prior to studying at Eastman, Jeff taught choral music at the Eaglebrook School in Deerfield, MA and served as Director of Music at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in East Longmeadow, MA. He previously taught choral music at Quabbin Regional Middle/High School and has served as Organist or Director of Music at a variety of churches – Unitarian Universalist, Catholic, Episcopal and Presbyterian – in Massachusetts and New York.
A piano and organ accompanist for choirs at Eastman, Smith College, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Jeff has also music-directed or played keyboard for dozens of musical theater productions in central and western Massachusetts. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Master’s degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Besides studying music, Jeff enjoys meditation and is deeply interested in spirituality and metaphysics.
