St. Mark's Church > Who We Are > Leadership

The Rector, the Wardens and the Officers

Rector

The Rector is the chief liturgical and educational officer of St. Mark’s, responsible for the design, coordination, and implementation of all worship and education programming. The Rector also is the chair of the Vestry, the chief supervisor of all staff, and the primary representative of St. Mark’s in the larger community.

Wardens

The Senior Warden is considered the “chief lay officer” of St. Mark’s, working in partnership with the Rector to give overall leadership to the parish.

The Junior Warden is responsible for management and upkeep of our buildings and grounds.

The Wardens are elected at the annual parish meeting, serve one year terms and may be re-elected for one additional term.

Officers

The Vestry elects, on recommendation from the Senior Warden, the Treasurer, the Register (secretary), Human Resources Officer, and Legal Counsel.  The Vestry elects the Manciple, who assists the Junior Warden in carrying out his responsibilities, on recommendation from the Junior Warden.

St. Mark's Episcopal Church is a community of individuals. Come and be. Come and belong.
