How to get here
St. Mark’s is located just a few blocks from the Capitol South Metro (Blue/Orange lines); we are also within a 15-minute walk from the Eastern Market (Blue/Orange lines) and Union Station (Red line) stations. You can check the WMATA website to learn more about how to travel here via rail or bus.
St. Mark’s is located at the corner of 3rd and A Streets, SE, just two blocks from Pennsylvania Avenue and near I-395 and the SE-SW Freeway.
Capital Bikeshare, which offers bikes for short-term rental across the metropolitan area, has two docking stations near the church: one near the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue NW and 3rd Street NW, and the other at East Capitol Street and 4th Street. For more information, visit Capital Bikeshare’s website.
We are located in a residential neighborhood and street parking is limited. Please carefully read and observe the signs outlining parking regulations as parking is enforced aggressively.
Cars without residential stickers may park on adjacent blocks for a maximum of two hours from 7 a.m. till 8:30 p.m Monday through Friday. Parking is free on Saturdays and Sundays. There are two exceptions: On the east side of 3rd Street from Independence Avenue to A Street, the two-hour parking restriction runs from 7:00 am until 9:30 pm Monday through Saturday. Along the west side of 3rd Street from Independence Avenue to East Capitol Street there is metered parking. Cars may park for a maximum of two hours from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm Monday through Saturday. The charge is $2 per hour. Payment can be made by phone, credit card, and coins (quarters and $1 coins only).
