What is pledging all about?
►Why Make a Pledge?
St. Mark’s needs your financial support! St. Mark’s depends on donations to sustain its programs and facilities. Every fall, during the Annual Canvass pledge drive, parishioners pledge to donate a certain amount of money over the next calendar year. The church’s fiscal year is the calendar year – and its annual operating budget for each calendar year is based on the sum of these pledges. Please consider making a canvass pledge; the number of programs St. Mark's is able to offer depends directly on the generosity of our members and friends!

►How Pledging Works at St. Mark’s
A pledge is a promise to pay a certain dollar-amount over a certain time period.
A pledge payment is a donation made to fulfill a pledge.
A Pledging Member is a parishioner or friend who has made a pledge during the most recent annual canvass (pledge drive). Pledging members are entitled to vote for the parish Wardens and Vestry at the Annual Meetings held each spring – and are included in the annual Parish Directory. ►St. Mark’s Two Ongoing Pledge Drives
The annual fall Canvass raises general operating funds – the money that keeps the church doors open; pays worship, music and program expenses; and supports clergy and staff salaries. Canvass 2014 is raising money now to fund the budget for calendar year 2014. While the goal is to gather sufficient pledges in October and November to allow the Vestry to finalize the 2014 budget before year's end, canvass pledges are gratefully accepted throughout the year!

This campaign is projected to continue through 2016, and pledges may be made for one, two, three, or four year terms, so long as the term does not extend beyond 2016. Pledges of payment over time – or one-time gifts – are gratefully accepted throughout the year! Please note: You only need make a Vision 2020 pledge once -- you do not need to renew it every year.
