Event Details: This alternative Sunday worship service is truly the work of the people, which is the definition of liturgy. We gather in an intimate setting where all are welcomed to be part of our contemplative worship experience. The Eucharist-centered service includes a homily balanced with various liturgical styles and musical resources. Following the service we invite all to a social hour with plenty of food and beverages. It is our expressed intent that this alternative service mirror Jesus’ message of radical hospitality to all who desire to become part of a loving community where we can deepen their spiritual growth.

Event Details: LOVE AND FORGIVENESS: A PRE-LENTEN EXPLORATION. Many religious and philosophical traditions hold that to love others we must first love ourselves. Life teaches us that our expectations and highest hopes, when unmet, can lead to disappointment, hurt, and anger. Disappointments, when coming at the hands of others, lead us to face our need (if not always our desire) to forgive. Forgiveness, involving our acknowledgement of hurt and our willful suspension of anger, is an act of liberation and, at its depth, self-love. March 5 is Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Come, take part in this pre-Lenten exploration as we look afresh at forgiveness in the light of our life’s stories and in league with teachings at the heart of our Christian lore. When: Tuesdays, February 11, 18, 25, March 4, 7.30–9.30 pm. Where: Adams Room. Weekend: February 21-23 at Dupont House, Rehoboth Beach, DE Leaders: Paul Abernathy and Loretta Veney. Fee: $260.
