Wednesday Drop-in Bible Study

Wed | noon-1:15 pm online

The Wednesday Drop-In Bible Study meets on Wednesdays from noon to 1:15 pm via Zoom.

This year we are exploring the Biblical roots of “resurrection” before the Gospel accounts were written. What was the Jewish understanding of an “after-life”? We will reference the Psalms and the books of Maccabees and the prophet Daniel. What did St. Paul have to say about his experience of it? We will read portions of St. Paul’s authentic letters. To guide us in this challenging exploration, we will reference the commentary of Bernard Brandon Scott’s book The Trouble with Resurrection. And, as usual, we will be listening for the growth of our own understanding of Jesus’s Resurrection.
